PlayStation 2 Games Worth More Than People Think
Most PS2 games are cheap. A few popular ones are worth hundreds.

Most PS2 games sell for under £30 used. But some games that sell often are worth hundreds of pounds, and most of them are horror games. The American copy is usually worth far more than the PAL one, so check the region before you buy or sell.
A console full of cheap games
The PlayStation 2 sold in huge numbers, and so did its games. That's why a box of PS2 games at a car boot sale is rarely worth much. The price guide behind MyPlayersVault shows just how cheap most of them are.
| Region | PS2 games priced | Under £10 | £10 to £30 | £30 to £50 | Over £50 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| UK/PAL | 2,368 | 61% | 28% | 5% | 6% |
| NTSC-U | 1,833 | 46% | 39% | 7% | 8% |
| NTSC-J | 1,489 | 30% | 50% | 11% | 9% |
Used (complete in box) price guide values from MyPlayersVault, 16 October 2026. Special editions and accessories left out.
In the UK, six in ten PAL games are worth under £10, and nearly nine in ten are worth under £30. So when a PS2 game is worth hundreds, it's easy to miss.
How we picked the games
A game can look valuable just because it almost never sells, so one odd sale sets its price. We wanted games people actually buy and sell. So we only looked at PS2 games that sell often in the price guide, then took the ten most valuable used copies in each region. We also checked each price against two months ago, to make sure no single odd sale was behind it.

What the lists have in common
- Horror rules. Kuon, Rule of Rose, Haunting Ground, Obscure and four Silent Hill games all make the lists, along with Forbidden Siren 2 and Project Zero 3. If you're sorting through PS2 games, the horror ones are the first to check.
- The American copy is usually worth more. Five games appear in both lists, and the NTSC-U copy is dearer every time. Kuon is worth more than three times as much in America (£1661 against £500).
- Sealed is a different level. A sealed PAL copy of The Silent Hill Collection is worth £1377, almost five times a used one. Our guide to sealed vs used explains why the gap can be so big.
- Most held steady. Over two months, most of these prices moved only a little. A few rose a lot, like Kuon in America and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories in the UK, so it's worth watching them on MyPlayersVault.
What MyPlayersVault makes of them
MyPlayersVault gives every game it analyses a Vault Score and a tier. Kuon, Rule of Rose and Haunting Ground have the top tier, SOVEREIGN ORPHAN, in both regions. Obscure and Silent Hill 3 in America, and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Blood Will Tell in the UK, have S-TIER GHOST, the next tier down. Open any game on MyPlayersVault to see its latest score.
Before you buy or sell
- Check the region. The same game can be worth very different amounts in UK/PAL and NTSC-U. See our guide to how region affects value.
- Check it's complete. These prices are for complete in box copies. A missing manual or a cracked case will bring the value down.
- Watch for fakes. The more a game is worth, the more it's worth checking the disc, the case and the seller before you pay.
